How the Ready Fund Works — and why it’s essential
While every disaster is different, the days immediately following a tragedy are always the most crucial. People may be trapped under rubble, all of a town’s food supply may be wiped out, water sources may be rendered undrinkable, or there may be literal fires that need to be fought.
It is during these first days that many organizations jump into action and begin fundraising to help with relief efforts, Foursquare Disaster Relief included. Unfortunately, the act of gathering resources happens when people need those resources the most.
Foursquare Disaster Relief created The Ready Fund so that when disaster strikes we can react immediately, precisely when the need is greatest. The Ready Fund is built and maintained through the monthly contributions of our Ready Fund Response Partners, who help us ensure that we’re ready for any disaster in any part of the world.
