Local churches are responding to devastating floods across Thailand
Widespread monsoon flooding has impacted communities across Thailand, including the capital city of Bangkok, following weeks of heavy rainfall that intensified in late September. Flooding has affected approximately 1.8 million people across 42 provinces, displaced thousands of residents, and disrupted more than 580,000 homes. As floodwaters continue to threaten vulnerable areas, families are facing urgent needs for shelter, safe drinking water, food, hygiene supplies, medical care, and support for those isolated by rising waters.
Foursquare Disaster Relief (FDR) is working closely with the Foursquare Missions International regional coordinator and the Thailand national church office to assess the impact on Foursquare pastors, churches, congregations, and surrounding communities. Local leaders are confirming the safety of church members, evaluating damage to homes and ministry facilities, and identifying churches that can serve as relief distribution and support centers.
FDR is currently supporting church-led relief efforts with emergency food and water, hygiene supplies, temporary shelter assistance, and spiritual and emotional care. These initial response efforts are focused on helping flood-affected families, reaching isolated households, and equipping local churches to serve their communities during this ongoing crisis.
