Urgent Response: Earthquakes in Turkey + Syria

Over 20,000 people have died and thousands more are hurt after multiple large earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria Monday, the morning of Monday, February 6. The quakes were some of the strongest to strike the area in over a century.

Our Foursquare community is in desperate need of support. Turkey is at the frontlines of the burgeoning church-planting movement within Foursquare. As a result of ongoing efforts over the last several decades of focused growth in Turkey, Foursquare has one of the largest networks of churches in this region. Though these churches have been impacted by the devastation of these earthquakes themselves, they are also already mobilizing to provide care + relief for the surrounding communities.

Our Foursquare Disaster Relief response is already in motion to provide clothing, sleeping bags, and a mobile kitchen—additionally, responders are already mobilizing on the ground for search, rescue + emergency response.

When disaster strikes, FDR mobilizes volunteers to organize supplies and establish aid distribution centers as quickly as possible.

While Russia’s war on Ukraine continues to rage on, Foursquare Disaster Relief team, in partnership with Foursquare Missions International, are remaining steady with relief efforts. Teams are currently on the ground helping in Poland, Germany, Croatia, Ukraine, and Romania, helping refugees continue to have their basic needs met including safety, shelter, food, and water.
