Our neighbors worldwide are going through one of the most challenging periods of their lives, facing food insecurity due to the economic challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Foursquare Disaster Relief has helped put food on the table where there was none and helped prevent children from going without a meal. The support we have been able to bring has made a genuine difference. Since Covid-19 Hunger Crisis response launched in October 2021, 8,953 people have received food assistance for a month. Foursquare Disaster Relief partnered in 21 countries in 2021 to help respond to this crisis.
Uniquely, Foursquare Disaster Relief can respond through the local-global churches to send resources quickly and efficiently, ensuring people get the food they need when they need it.
With the newest variant of COVID-19 sweeping the globe, this hunger crisis is far from over. Unfortunately, this latest coronavirus wave keeps the pressure on supply lines, depressing the job market, and inflating food prices. In short, our work is still crucial to help the people get through.
