On August 10, a powerful earthquake struck western Colombia, impacting communities across Chocó, Risaralda, Valle del Cauca, and surrounding regions. While local Foursquare leaders are grateful that no fatalities have been reported within their church family, many churches, pastoral homes, and community buildings sustained significant damage. Congregations are now assessing needs, caring for affected families, and helping their communities begin the long road to recovery.
Through the leadership of Foursquare Colombia, pastors and volunteers are already responding on the ground. District leaders have mobilized assessments in affected areas, counseling support has been made available for impacted families, and local churches are collecting food, clothing, and emergency supplies for distribution. Field teams are gathering needs assessments in some of the hardest-hit communities to help determine the most effective path forward for relief and recovery.
