Foursquare Disaster Relief is actively responding to the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa across Jamaica, Cuba, and Haiti. For the past two weeks, our team has been on the ground in Jamaica, serving some of the hardest-hit churches and communities. Many of these areas are rural and isolated, making access to food, clean water, and basic supplies extremely limited. Working closely with Foursquare Jamaica and local leaders, our teams have been assessing needs, supporting pastors, and delivering help where it is needed most.

Through the partnership and generosity of donors, we have been able to provide thousands of hot meals, water filters, food packs, and hygiene supplies to families recovering from the storm. In collaboration with Mercy Chefs, thousands of people have received hot, nourishing meals during this critical time. Additionally, essential supplies are being distributed in Cuba and Haiti through local Foursquare churches that are faithfully caring for their communities under challenging conditions.

A significant advancement in this response has been the purchase of a truck with a powered lift gate, made possible through donor support. This vehicle will allow local church leaders in Jamaica to continue delivering critical supplies long after our deployment teams have returned home, strengthening long-term resilience and enabling sustained care for isolated households.

As we move into the next phase of response, our focus is on keeping remote communities supplied with food and safe water until local services can be restored. We are also conducting assessments for upcoming medical, WASH, and construction teams that will help rebuild infrastructure, restore health services, and support long-term recovery.
